Meet Kimberley Mulla
Kimberley Mulla confesses that she first came to Telkwa “almost by accident,” but very quickly fell in love with the friendly people, the safe community and the fabulous scenery. “It is a wonderful place to raise a family and to work,” Kimberley says. She especially appreciates the rivers, which she calls “beautiful and inspiring,” and ardently believes that it’s vital to protect them.
Kimberley recounts growing up and watching Julia Child with her mother, and Julia’s quote “A party without a cake is just a meeting” always stuck with her. Those experiences’ watching cooking shows inspired her early on with a desire to have a food company. Kimberley puts great care into the food products that she makes, noting that “every ingredient matters,” and knowing that people appreciate buying foods that have been produced with local and fair trade components.
Kimberley appreciates how hard the village of Telkwa works to promote and support local business. “I believe that more business and competition will be a healthy addition to the community,” states Kimberley. For her own part, Kimberley makes a point of buying locally whenever she can. The family enjoys shopping at the Farmers’ Market and also frequents Rudolph’s Pure Sausage and the Baeckerei at the Cointe Inn. But their favourite (especially the kids) is the ice cream stand.
Artisan. Quality. Sustainable.
At Kimberley’s Kitchen, every ingredient matters. Kimberley takes great pride and care in every gourmet food item she makes. She hand-picks all of her fruits and vegetables and many items come directly from local farms and farmers. Kimberley’s Kitchen chocolate products are made with fair trade chocolate produced from ethically-grown and harvested cocoa beans and has a richer, deeper flavour. Foodies will find a delectable selection of sweet treats, including candy, confections and baked goods created with care and baked in small batches to ensure high quality and consistency in every product.
